Once a pastoral hamlet in the foothills of the Vizovice Hills, it is here that one of the cruellest moments of the Second World War played out. Nowadays the legacy of this event is marked by the National Cultural Monument, reminding us of the atrocities the Nazis committed here. The intensity of its history resounds into this otherwise charming Wallachian landscape. Nevertheless, you can completely escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Ploština’s surroundings allow you to relax on the extensive meadows or explore the nooks and crannies of the ubiquitous nature.

We have modern 2-bed rooms with their own bathroom, 2-bed and 3-bed rooms with shared bathrooms and traditional and simple ground floor wooden cabins with no bathroom (shower/WC).

Our history

Pod Ploštinou is a recreational centre or resort that has a long history. The extensive grounds are located in the Zlín Region in the foothills of the Vizovice Mountains between the small villages of Drnovice and Tichov. From Valašské Klobucko it is in the direction of Smolina, Tichov then take a right turn just before Drnovice and follow the stream. From Vysoké Pole you head for Drnovice and then turn left and follow the stream.

The tranquillity of the dense forests and surrounding meadows offers the perfect opportunity for both relaxation and rejuvenation. What’s more, a walk to the Ploština National Monument means you will also learn something about the location’s history. 

Thanks to the Zlín-based company ELKOPLAST CZ, the Ploština recreational centre has been fully restored. In 2020, the rooms and sanitary facilities in the central building were completely rebuilt and modernized. This investment means the accommodation services are suitable for both long-term and short-term stays.

The accommodation is complemented by traditional, single storey wooden cabins, which offer simple yet comfortable accommodation, primarily intended for short-term accommodation during the summer season. The Pod Ploštinou area offers countless opportunities for outdoor activities, which is why it is so popular for camps, school trips or getting-to-know-you courses. The playing grounds or the spacious, covered arbour provide space for various leisure activities and games.
